‘Mahtari Vandan Yojana’ will be implemented from March 01

Eligible women will be paid Rs 1000 per month through DBT.

Raigarh. With the aim of promoting women empowerment, the state government will implement Mahtari Vandan Yojana in the state from 1 March 2024. Under the scheme, local resident married women of Chhattisgarh state will be eligible. The age of a married woman should not be less than 21 years as on 01 January 2024. Widow, divorced, abandoned women will also be eligible for the scheme. Under the scheme, Rs 1000 per month will be paid to the eligible woman through DBT.

Women receiving pension from social assistance programmes, various pension schemes, if the pension amount is less than Rs 1000, the remaining difference will be paid. The process of online and offline application under Mahtari Vandan Yojana will start from 5 February 2024. The last date for receipt of applications is 20 February 2024. The transfer of amount to the eligible female beneficiary will be done on March 8, 2024. Mode and procedure of application

To avail the benefits of Mahtari Vandan Yojana, eligible women can apply through online portal and mobile app. For this, the applicant can apply through the login ID of Anganwadi centres, Gram Panchayat Secretary (village in-charge), Child Development Project Office, ward in-charge in urba⁶n areas or through the applicant’s own portal. The process of filling the application form will be free. The application form will be available in the Gram Panchayat/Ward Office/Anganwadi Center/Project Office and the application form will be made online by the camp in-charge.

These documents will be required for application
To avail the benefits of Mahtari Vandan Yojana, eligible women applicants will have to submit their own passport size photograph, documents related to local residence, Aadhar Card, PAN Card, marriage certificate, death certificate of husband in case of widowhood, social certificate in case of abandonment. Certificate issued by Ward, Gram Panchayat, Birth Certificate, PAN Card, Voter ID Card etc. (any one), photocopy of bank passbook and self-declaration form/affidavit will have to be submitted.

These women will be in the category of ineligibility under the scheme
Those whose family member is an income tax payer will be ineligible under Mahtari Vandan Yojana. Whose family members include first class, second class and third class officers and employees working on permanent, temporary or contractual posts in the government department, undertaking, board, local body of the Government of India or the State Government will be ineligible under the scheme. Those whose family member is a present or former MP or MLA and whose family member is the present or former chairman or vice-chairman of a board, corporation, board of the Government of India or a state government, will also be ineligible under the scheme.
